Students who complete a three-quarter track will receive a certificate. In order for students to receive the certificate, they must complete the certificate form, listing the courses as they will appear on their transcript.
Students who wish to complete the minor must take a total of six courses (a three-course track and three electives). All courses must be taken for a letter grade (if offered) and must count for a minimum of three units; a grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or better must be achieved in each course. Courses may not fulfill requirements for another degree.
For the electives, students may choose either to take three courses closely related to their track of choice or to go broad and take courses in two or three humanities departments, ideally selecting from among the disciplinary gateway courses (e.g., ARTHIST 1B, DLCL 100, HISTORY 1A or 1B, PHIL 1, or TAPS 1). All electives must be approved by the director of undergraduate studies.
